CLASSIC 1969 HALVORSEN
Re-fits
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Cumana – was built by the famous New South Wales boat builders Halvorsen all the way back in 1969. Halvorsen has a huge following and you can see why as these gentlemen’s motorboats ooze’s charm. Classic in design and construction all older Halvorsen’s are typically built-in timber, and as there are still many of these wonderful boats around, it just goes to show timber is a one of the most durable materials to build boats from. And besides, building with timber is a joy. Cumana is a classic style timber 40’ flybridge cruiser. Proyacht received her in a state of disrepair. A challenging project we just love to get into.
Scope of restoration work included: – Repair hull and apply a full new paint job – Make and fit new cabin/cockpit roof, carry out extensive repairs to flybridge cowling – Remove all deckware and carry out repairs – Re-chrome all fittings – Replace rails – Replace all through-hull fittings – Revarnish all external teak timber work. Paint all exterior of boat including hull, deck cabin-tops. Apply new boot line and Antifoul.
This project was started end of 2022 and is still restoration, but planned to be completed end February 2023
